Full Moon in Aquarius

Updated: Feb 3

Be sure to let yourself get weird, roll with the unexpected, and don't be afraid to let your inner ice queen take the reins.

Today's full moon both blesses us and riles things up amidst some interesting, perhaps intense, astrology that we've been experiencing (I'm looking at *you* Mars/Uranus/North Node conjunction).

The moon in Aquarius has a strange character; there's something that just feels different, more aloof and contrary than the familiar, warm, and immediate moon significations we are used to. This full moon will show you love, but conjunct Saturn, the tough love and love-from-afar dimensions of the lunar archetype might be more pronounced.

You can show yourself some Saturnian love

by doing the hard thing you've been putting off.

Saturnian Fullness

This conjunction with Saturn strengthens the moon's ability to help us a) manifest our more ambitious dreams and b) take on greater responsibility to secure our future and the future of our social network of care. I always find it beneficial to remember that the full moon represents a sometimes uncomfortable opposition wherein the moon is receiving the light (wisdom) from the opposite sign where the sun shines.

In this case, quirky and intellectual Aquarius (a fixed air sign) is receiving the dancing campfire light of a Leo sun (a fixed fire sign). To me, this full moon reminds us to not take ourselves too seriously, especially when things don't go to plan, or when we mess up in an embarrassing way. Leo wants us to remember to laugh at ourselves and take our bow, allowing ourselves to be the fool from time to time without shame.

Letting it go

Releasing a tendency toward self-blame could be helpful particularly through the next few weeks as Uranus (the planet of the unexpected) remains conjunct the North Node. Also, still in a separating conjunction with accident-prone Mars, it is advisable to take steps to be a little more careful under this influence.

This combination asks us to avoid getting swept away into our default patterning when the unforeseen occurs. Remember that you can take a moment to step back, take a breath and respond a different way this time.

If this Moon-Mars square has you feeling pent up and irritable, find a physical outlet for release if you can (or just scream your rage out into a pillow- whatever floats your boat).

When you do your full moon dreaming today,

ask yourself if you can build more structures into your routine that

bring you pleasure.

Take stock of how you are showing up

in the broader community and

in your campfire circle of intimates.

How can you disrupt any patterns of self-denial and avoidance

that have emerged or resurfaced?

Take care of your hearts, witches, and honor all your wild dreams you've brought into form.

With love and strength from Santa Cruz,
